ATR .30-06 Deer Thug

I have an opportunity to acquire what's appears to be a never fired ATR .30-06 Deer Thug. Not sure what the cost will be yet but I see MSRP is $485. Several websites have them listed for around $300. Some not so good reviews of them as well. No scope, just the gun. Any opinions on this firearm?

I know we have a few members with this rifle, but they don't appear to be very active on the site. You might try searching posts with "ATR deer thug" key words to find members. A PM might be a better way to get info if they don't visit the forum regularly...
