This is the XDS-2, got it directly from GG&G with the help of their Independence Day sale. Just got home from work threw it on and took some pics so I haven’t shot with it yet. Probably this weekend if not working so I’ll come back with bang for the buck.

I couldn’t find much on this bipod and its a little investment IMO so I’ll put this up for people in the market

Only bipod I have used with this rifle was a borrowed Harris 6-9” swivel. It is good, buddy has had it for a while and has bagged plenty of game with it mounted to a 338 win mag to a .243 even trip to AK for Caribou.

However after I used it I was even more on the fence about a bipod because it just wasn’t what I was expecting, it worked fine, I was expecting rock solid.

The GG&G is in a different league. While I haven’t shot with it I could instantly tell this bipod is ROCK solid using it prone in the backyard.
Machined with very tight tolerance, very robust CNCed aluminum mechanism, and the legs are decent thickness tubing.

Thumb nuts work the entirety of moving parts. One is for the 20 degrees of cant , one for the pan of 30 degrees to each side and one for each leg’s height adjustment…..even a large thumb nut to take it on and off.

The legs lock 45 degrees forward, awesome for laying behind a rise shooting over the top or just getting low shooting over anything. 6” tall with legs out, 8” with the legs at 90 degrees and 10.25” with the legs fully extended……rubber feet, 15 ounces.
So far I am very impressed, serious equipment.I’ll report back soon on how it feels under recoil.

Damn brother, that thing IS serious.

Looks to be built like a tank. I think you're gonna like it. The Atlas I use on my .308 was a great investment...

One of the things I didn't care for with the Harris was the legs rotating when I pushed into the rifle a bit. It just kind of rolled along as the feet rotated. This one dosent do that.
Also as I was leaning into the GG&G it doesn't flex near as much, hardly any at all. None of the moving parts have even a hint of play, I can see the cost in just the craftsmanship. Still not sure if I would go full price but at around 50 bucks off, yeah I'm glad I did it.

The Harris on my Fal is the same as you describe and has always bugged me. And since it has the long legs, seems to make it even more noticeable.

I know that this probably isn't along the lines of what you're wanting, but I have seriously began considering one of these little shooting sticks. (I've used real sticks like these for years).

I am also interested in these, but I would require a much longer leg on that gun and I would want an all metal one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fieldsport-...711?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2f2e8737

I made them for my Grandpa for years out of Cedar usually a branch stob instead of a crotch because that's rare in a Cedar. Part walking stick part shooting stick, he loved shooting sticks, he used them for pistols too.
I always lean up on a tree or rest my rifle on some thing....log, rock, whatever.
If I can get prone I will and the bipod will make it easier to do it anywhere instead of me being at the mercy of mother natures rifle rest......I'm all about the prone, mud , wet, bugs and all.
Getting tired of testing rounds, slave to the bench....not much longer

Oh yeah, I like it. I have been mostly shooting from sand bags at the bench doing my testing. So instantly I noticed movement because nothing really beats sand bags.

Thought I wasn’t shooting that great at first but then I shot some factory CBC I bought on the way out for the fun of it and shot this group, realized that my loads were opening up due to lengthening the OAL…..so it’s good to go and a lot nicer than hauling three 50 pound sand bags around

Noticeable sturdier then any bipod I have shot with and prone it is easy to lean into and keep still, and you can really put some lean into it and hold it still when shooting fast. On the bench not so much, basically to easy to move when sucking up on the rifle but I think any bipod will do that. Because of that I try to not give it any input, but then the rifle jumps and I need to adjust every shot…..no free lunch .

Nice Group! what's the distance 100 yards?

Glad the bipod is meeting a lot of your needs.

yeah that was 100 yards

Nice!

I'm dialing in my MVP nicely now. Seems it likes lower grain ammo which was confirmed yesterday (68gr again grouped like crap). Got a 1.4" 5 shot group at 200 yards with Freedom Munitions Vmax .223 55gr

That is sub MOA, Keep that one on the list.
Mine likes lighter bullets too. I haven't enough powder choice to see if the heavy bullets do better with different powders but I cant get match bullets to shoot better than 55 gr fmj....averaging 1.5 moa .
wanting to try some Nosler 77gr....might as well. I mean I am happy with 1.5 all day but if I am getting 1.5 with fmj, I would think match would be at least a little less
