I was able to score a post war springfield armory stock with USGI metal which dates in-line with my build (with some character marks of course). Stamps include the 1/2" DAS stamp, Serif circle P on the pistol grip (attributed to rifles built with late 4.3M serial numbers). Seems the DAS stamp appears to be double struck but based on my inquiry with other more knowledgable collectors this is not uncommon. There is also a "R" struck on the bottom of the pistol grip. Still trying to figure the significance of that stamp.
Rifle still has not been test fired yet. Weather, wind, and my availability has been an issue. Also, I need to obtain some 30-06 head space gauges to make sure my bolt and barrel are within acceptable limits prior to test firing.
