Scope ring as flashlight mount ?

Is there any reason not to use a scope ring to attach a flashlight ?

1 inch ring and 1 inch flash light. Ring attaches to a short section of picatinny rail on a CDM Gear mount for Mossberg heat shields.

Any thoughts ?

I don't see any reason you couldn't. The only negative I can think of is that it may not hold it as closely as an actual light mount depending on the ring height. But if that's what you've got and it works then I don't see a problem.

U have used scope rings as flashlight mounts in the past. They didn't put the flashlight on the optimal spot for me, but it worked just fine until I did get a better mount.

Only down side would be that it would not be easy to add/remove the light unless you have a QR scope mount/ring.

I have used the weaver type and get the "Low" model.. Works great with any 1" light.

This setup is dual weaver lows and an LAPG 730 lumen mounted on the M-lok cantilever pic rail.
Removal is very quick with the large knurled nuts.
