Good morning

Thanks fellas, the drive was good. Beauty of a day here in Omaha.blue skies, mid 80s, light southerly breeze.

Cadd, I hope the roof is finished when you read this.

Ya'll have a great day.

We discovered more dry rot, and that delayed things. Only about half the shingles are up.

It's 100F in Clovis today and we have called it quits.

The shingles start shedding grit when they get too hot. Also the roof starts shedding shinglers. We don't need an accident.

Of course we pick the hottest week of the year so far to re-roof, but everything came out pretty good I and now I just have to finish the wall and the wiring.

Good evening fellas. I drove home from Omaha today. It was nice until the last ten miles. Rain...

Within an hour of arriving home we had flash flooding. Will it ever end ? The good thing is the Keystone has lowered considerably and has room for a lot of water.

Hope you all had a great day.

Good morning fellas. Partly cloudy skies this morning and a pleasant 68 degrees.

It appears we will be going back to the lake this weekend. It is still 11 feet above normal, different lake than Keystone. We will just hang out and visit folks that are there.

Have a great day and be safe.

'Morning guys.

The dust from demolition was really getting to me. Today is mainly cleanup of the back patio, and I'm not doing that mess.

I have some plaster and paint and insulation, plus a little wiring, but today I will mostly take it easy. It was a rotten week to work on a roof. Temps from 90~100F drove us off shortly after noon. The shingles get slippery.

I still have to remount the roof ladder for the AC, but I'll have it blasted and painted first.

Have a good day folks and avoid getting blasted!

Enjoy! I`ve been meaning to head that direction, long over due for a drive up through the hills and I need to get to Wynadotte for a visit with relatives.

I hope y`all have a great weekend!

Good morning Mossberg owners.

The weather here has eased up a lot and instead of 100° F we're down in the mid-80s.

My goal today is to finish the electrical work and insulation and go buy sheathing, then start putting it up.

I might even get a coat of paint on it today. I imagine there hasn't been much painting going on back in Oklahoma and Arkansas in Tennessee and Ohio.

There will be a lot of work for unskilled people to haul trash and clean up debris. Out here it looks like we're going to have a bumper crop of corn and many other things. If the politicians don't screw it up the state of California is going to make a lot of money on this year's Harvest.

Farmers around my neck of the woods probably won't even plat corn or beans. Too wet. Raisin hell will be their best crop this year.

I know back east folks will need lots of help and cleanup. Fortunately, unlike politicians and actors, farmers and ranchers generally pay their taxes. We're going to sell a fortune in food, and pay a fortune in taxes. If the government doesn't screw things up, things will work out for the country.

Unfortunately they may allow big tax credits for things we shouldn't be doing at all. It's going to be an interesting year . . .

Good afternoon morning all, my busy busy right now, rehabbing and somehow workingbaround homestead. Its a good kind of hectic right now. Hope all well and having nice summer.

Another day, another $200 load of lumber I gotta hang.:mornin:

It's not much, but it'll be a pain. I bought grey-blue factory-made ship-lap "barn-wood" LOL
(That's a lotta hyphens for one day.)

Like DJ, I too see the hyenas drooling and pacing ANXIOUSLY.

They know their ignorant followers are starting to wise up.
Of course the zealots never will, but that type are their own worst enemy.

Good morning from Tulsa. Clear blue skies and about 65 .

I had a productive weekend at the lake. Got a couple of items tended to at the condo, then replaced the alternator on the Concours. I was told it was about a 90 minute job. LOL. About 4 and a half hours later it was finished and buttoned up. Now I need some decent weather to ride a bit.

Have a great day and stay vigilant.

I decided to revise the electrical work so I didn't get much siding hung.

I did pack the wall with R13 fiberglass. Then I spliced in some flashings top & bottom and sealed up all the gaps and cracks.

Two layers of 3/4" styrofoam brings the wall flush to the original exterior face of stucco. . . .After about 30 mins of chipping stucco lumps where the original chimney started.

I spliced the top plate back together with an 8' 1x4 and some long screws. The 1x4 will be the header of my siding.

Today I am cutting and Drilling and hanging stripping and siding and trim boards and lots of caulking.

I haven't decided if I will leave this wood gray or if I will paint the stuff red to match our house trim.

Good morning MOers. High clouds and 63 this morning. We have a chance of rain late tonight I into tomorrow.

Cadd, looking good and so close to being done.

Doctor visit today then errands.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning all and happy hump day. Mostly sunny and 64 as I drink my second cup of coffee. The rain missed us somehow, but unfortunately lots up north of us.

I have a few odds and ends today, then tomorrow we are heading back to the lake.

Have a great day and be safe.

Good morning Mossberg owners.

Americans put up $21 million in donations. Brian Kolfage and Co (once the paperwork was done) built 5200' of wall on tough, steep terrain for only $6 million in just a few months. With a concrete road.

The federal govt was projected to spend $40 million and take 2 years for that mile. With a dirt road.

This is the difference between private capitalism and the creeping socialism of US government; AND IT IS NO SMALL DIFFERENCE. Private enterprises survive by speed and economy. Socialist government survives by perpetual sloth and waste.

This should be a case-study lesson for all taxpayers. If the government won't close the gate for $25 billion in 12 years, citizens have proved it can be done for $5 billion in two.
wewall.jpg

Now 2500' or half a mile isn't much compared to our border, but this bit went up across the worst smuggling routes (13 trails!) out of Juarez and through the hills.

This stuff is hitting the national news now, and I expect that we will see more wall soon.

Rock on Brian!
