this has been dormant for a while, but I have a question. have you tried angled or curved cuts in the wad? I was wondering if that might cause a rotational effect on the wad and what effect that would have on the pattern.

I see what you are saying, it would be worth trying just to see what it did. My guess is if it had an effect at all that it would make the pattern worse......like when you shoot buck from a riffled barrel. The centrifugal force would force the pattern open.....make since?.....never know till we try

I though about that after it was too late.
what if you combined that with a slug and ended up with a poor man's fin stabilized projectile? ;>
