4x4/Patriot 300WM/7mm/338WM Max Cartridge Length

Looking at picking up a 4x4 300 WinMag from a buddy and am interested to see how long you can load handloads before they won't fit/cycle in the polymer magazine.

I know 3.340 is SAAMI spec, but many rifles have no trouble cycling longer loads.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
 
Should be able to make them as least as long as the reload manual say's. I'd measure the magazine and compare it to written data. If they fit the magazine with room to spare, I like to move the bullet out as far as I can to the lands but not farther than one caliber depth in the neck
