   I contacted mossberg to find out if I could use a 500 butt stock on a 835.
   
   They said no.
   
   On many sites they say otherwise.
   
   I am looking for a shorter LOP for my 835.
   
   Any tips?

   I don't know exactly why they said no????? As long as you get a 12ga stock they will fit.
   Even a 20ga would fit but a little smaller where it fits the receiver.
