Just bought this model, and I'm looking for some enlightenment. Everything I read about the 590A1 always seems to bring up the heavy barrel and people suggest the 590 for lighter weight. My question is why they list the 590 #50670 with the heavy barrel? I personally don't care if it has one or not, just curious.

I don't think even Mossberg knows what all their model numbers mean. If they do, they're not sharing it with anyone else because even we're confused as you are about it.
