6 3/4" forearm on 7 3/4" action tube?

Copper BB
title says it all:

I recently bought a secondhand 590 and am in the process of refinishing it.

I want to add a wood stock, but wood forearms measuring 7 3/4 are exceedingly difficult to find. 6 3/4" are easy to find, and I was wondering if I'd be able to fit a 6 3/4" forearm on the 7 3/4"?

At this rate, it might just be less painful to order a 6 3/4" action tube from Mossberg and call it good.

Your best bet is going to be ordering the correct slide assembly for the forend you intend to use. The 7-3/4 on a 6-3/4 wouldn't be a problem because there are adapter nuts that allow that but there aren't adapters for the shorter forend on a long tube that I have seen or heard of.
