930 SPX Stock Angle

I am starting the process of shortening the stock and noticed something when I was doing my measuring. The stock angle of the 930 isn't 90 degrees to the bore. I find this odd because I thought I have read that almost all modern shotguns have a 90° angle.

What do you know about the subject?

I have noticed this as well but do not have an answer as to why they have done so.

My guess is because the recoil rod is at such an angle. If they kept the stock at 90 degrees to the bore there would be too much muzzle flip.

Stocks are fairly cheap, I may cut one at 90 and see if there are any differences.
