California politics is turning itself inside out right now.
The papers always supported gun-grabbing Gavin Newsom as he was governor Brown's right-hand man.
He was such a popular rich guy that they made him mayor of San Francisco. Lieutenant governor was just a breath away at that point, and of course he's reaching for the governorship now.
But suddenly, a Hispanic guy, Villagarosa, who was the mayor of Los Angeles is running.
And suddenly the local newspapers have denounced Gavin Newsom (their former gun grabbing poster boy) as a rich, handsome, privileged, White errand boy, for the wealthy Getty oil family.
This has always been known (that the Getty's were bankrolling him) you see, but no one ever talked about them in the paper or on the TV. The Getty's were simply too powerful.
But now the media has turned! It's too unpopular to be a rich white guy in California now. You're going to see a record year for Hispanic office folders in California followed by a record year for malfeasance among new Hispanic office holders in California.
Another fact is that being the mayor of Los Angeles or San Francisco is not much of a resume if you consider the horrible state that both of those cities are in with regard to budgets and crime and public education and Welfare.
And frankly Villagarosa is also beholden to some rich millionaires.
Of course these guys look like Prime candidates with their Public Service experience, until you consider that they both have been dismal failures in their own cities.
Los Angeles is overrun with crime and drugs and racial violence but the Democrat Party wants to put forth a man who has overseen that situation to absolutely zero positive effect.
Why? . . . because with a name like Villigarosa, this tall handsome privileged Hispanic rich guy has got a great chance of winning in a state where Hispanics are now over 51% of the population.
And with Hispanic money flowing in, the Democrats here don't need that Getty white money anymore.
So far the nation hasn't really learned anything from the presidency of Barack Obama, except how to game the system. Eventually we'll get all the dirt on them, when the media decides that there's no profit in keeping it a secret any longer.
