Ban on lead ammo?

http://news.yahoo.com/bald-eagle-crossh ... 01272.html

Just a FYI. Find it hard to believe there are 20 million cases a year! And really wondering how she nursed the eagle back to health from lead poisoning! I have a buddy who lost his African Grey to that. Bird had been eating the paint on a window sill that was lead based, it turns out. Few hundred bucks later, the vet said there was nothing they could do for it.

Yeah, I was watching some documentary on endangered scavenger birds in Yellowsone. The conservationists were attributing a lot of the deaths to lead poisoning from eating animals killed with lead shot.

Yellowstone National Park officials remind hunters that hunting within park boundaries is prohibited

I have not left a single piece of lead in any gut pile, all my shots have been pass through's. :D I've also never lost a big game animal.

I find it awfully hard to believe that a single bird could ever eat enough lead in gut piles or carcasses to have any effect on them. Have they ever looked into the possibility that they were getting lead elsewhere or if it was truly lead poisoning? I doubt it.

Like many liberal crusades, there is no evidence (at least that I have seen) that actually supports their claims.
