Good morning

Good morning folks.

It's going to be in the low 90s here today, but it's dry and there's a light Breeze.

Today I have to take my wife in for surgery on her knee cap. This is one of those surgeries they do so that you don't have so much pain in your old age. But they didn't rush her in there because it was life threatening or anything.

It's been over 2 weeks.

I'm not going to do much today but hang out at the hospital for a while, and cater to my disabled wife.

It looks like Baltimore has felt the Wrath of God. Huge flooding in the streets and lots of jobless homeless people.

This "global warming" thing actually seems to have made Central California a nicer place to live but the East Coast seems to be faring poorly.

We had lots of fires and they have lots of floods.

I don't have many plans for today folks. I was going to take Judy out to the cemetery but she's not going to be able to walk around with her broken knee, and frankly my knee is not feeling very good.

I took a fall the other day after tripping on the dog's ball. My knee is still kind of jacked up and I don't feel much like walking around today either.

I will probably still go and take some flowers though.

I added some Indian almond leaves to the water with my betta fish and they love it. Mr. Spooky built a huge bubble nest then he and and Carmen were seriously engaged for hours.

Unfortunately she was not quite ready to drop her eggs. I took her out and gave her a night off, but this morning she looked extremely gravid and I replaced her in the tank with Spooky.

Spooky is building his bubble nest larger and they have not yet resumed mating.

The 45-70 is a Henry with octagon barrel. It does thump, but not too awfully bad. Then again, I only fired 4 rounds through it. That was enough. I hope your knee and Judy's both get better quickly.

Good morning MOers. We have clear skies and 74 this morning. Last night, about midnight, we had some thunderstorms roll through and gave us some welcomed rain. Not a lot, maybe a quarter of an inch, but still welcomed.

I guess today I will finish mowing the yard and then start cleaning the guns I shot last weekend. I hope you all have a great day.Be safe and stay vigilant.

Morning folks...

I was up a lot last night and Judy slept like a log because they stuck her full of Narcotics. I'm a little wiped out this morning and she is starting to recover from the sedation.

The surgery went quickly and easily, but nothing else about the hospital goes quickly as most of you know.

The actual surgery takes 15 minutes tops if you are taking your time.

But that 15 minutes was surrounded by 9 hours of waiting.

Judy's going to be off her feet for about a week, but she can hobble around on crutches enough to get by.

I'm giving her post-operation therapy treatments every hour which makes it a little hard for me to catch up on my sleep. Fortunately the treatment is easy and only takes 5 minutes.

I came off a step stool while painting my boat 18 years ago, & my left knee has never been the same since.

The boat still looks great though. ;)
 
Good morning MOers. Welcome to the coffee club don3.

More rain fell last night, actually early morning. It looks like we got more than the night before, perhaps a half inch this time with thunder and lightning and wind, lots of wind. The next 10 days are going to be very hot with temps in the high 90s to 100 all except maybe one day. Sunday the high it forecast to only be 88.

Cadd, I hope Judy has a speedy recovery and mends well. Those things take time and patience. Her time and your patience.

It's been nice here the past 2 days, went to the range Tue. & Wen. Think it's going to rain on Friday so planing a trip to casino for lunch and a hour or so of gambling.
 
The weather here has been absolutely perfect for Hunting Fishing shooting and boating and pretty much anything.

I am home nursing my wife who is in a leg brace and having trouble getting up and down.

She's getting much better at it with practice, and I think the pain is fading because she's not taking pills.

I've been trying to breed some fish but I think one of them has turned out to be infertile. I think she has a kidney problem, and I am medicating her.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to get Spooky the betta interested in another girlfriend. He can be hard to please...

Good morning fellas. Clear skies and 77 already. The high today should be in the mid to high 90s. The forecast calls for the same for the next 10 days or so with Sunday being the only day different. Sunday the high should only be 89.

I'll be heading to the lake later today for the weekend. I hope you all have a great day and weekend.

Good afternoon folks.

One of my buddies came over yesterday and I broke everything out of the safe and showed him the entire collection. I used the anti-corrosion oil on everything & it all looks great even though I've barely touched it for 6 months.

I am still home nursing my wife. Her knee is getting better and she is cheery and eating well. She can get in and out of bed with some difficulty, and hobble around on crutches.

I think she will still have to wear a knee brace for about 6 weeks.

I am rearranging the growing school of fish in my aquariums, and trying to make plans for a new fish pond in the backyard.

The backyard is really looking terrific and there's only really one spot of unimproved or dirt left ~40 sf.

Judy has a cryo cuff on her leg I have to drain & put cold water in it once an hour.

In between I was messing with my fish and so now the joke becomes: after I change her water then I can change the fish water.

My grandkids are coming over today to visit. I better get things in gear here. It's going to be a gorgeous day to barbecue here with highs around 100 Fahrenheit.

Morning Cadd, you are up early for a busy day.

A cold front pushed through late yesterday and brought a welcome relief from the high temps and humidity. Today should be sunny, relatively low humidity, and a high below 90.
 
Good morning, It is cold, damp and raining in little Rhode Island today. I usually go to the range on Monday but today I stayed home and made a beef stew!
 
This has been hot here but it's very very dry. It's that bastard Jerry Brown, who keeps cutting back the water. ;)

Poor people are leaving California & now it's going to get worse because you'll have to buy water. The water in the tap is not good enough to wash your baby.

All the cheap immigrant labor backfires when you find out that supporting those people in America is an unprofitable situation at best.

Once they're here they are our social responsibility and we must bring them into the 21st century so we can all live together without cultural friction.

Unfortunately we have a whole lot of under educated and purposely uneducated thinking, "I don't want to be a chump worker. I want a $$$ computer job! I want to be a millionaire pop singer!" (Those are the ones that are not busy robbing mini-marts.)

For most of them those opportunities are Out Of Reach. Even with the best free education we could give them, they would not develop the temperament to accept it and succeed.

This is why socialism does not work. If you take any population and give everyone the same exact opportunities advantages and responsibilities, some of them will succeed and some will fail.

This is because you cannot get people to respect what you give them, but only what they work for.
