Watch the video, then I wanted to point out the only comment below the video.

The comment is not displaying on my phone.

Garbage runs one day a week. No one is going to keep a weeks worth a rotting trash in their house. That's a health risk in itself and is not a viable solution. Unfortunately, bears are overpopulated due to lax hunting laws and are over-protected. That's the #1 reason they raid trash in the first place because there are so many of them that they can't spread out enough into their own territory and have enough wild food to survive on.

The DNR will never admit that. I find it frustrating that states will wont allow or severely restrict hunting in certain areas then pay huge sums of money to hire "professional" sharpshooters to reduce game numbers in troubled areas.

Love how in the video they pretty much say its peoples own fault if you have bear issues because onviously you are not handling your garbage in a responsible mannor.

Its never a failure of the state game agencies to adequatly manage the game.

He is correct on one point, it is a challenge to kill bears in E KY when the season only runs when they are usually already denning up.

Why do I have this urge to go shoot big expensive bullets at bears in Kentucky?

Grrrrrrr......!

Don't know, but I have that feeling rather frequently.

Doesn't even have to be with a large caliber either.

And like clockwork, I knew this video was coming. They have to try to turn it around that people are the cause of the problems instead of the poor little bears.

Ky Fish and Game to crack down on intentionally (or unintentionally) feeding the bears.

And here's a bear on my security cameras that got into half the neighborhoods trash the other night, which would fit into the category of unintentionally feeding the bears.

I saw this coming from a mile away like knowing there were two trains on the same track barreling towards each other, but the guy in the video in post #5 was arrested today.

And ironically, he admitted that the video was taken on the back side of black mountain just into Virginia, and Virginia has said it has already killed the bear, but the DFW were sure to keep digging until they found something to arrest him for anyway.

I finally took the time to watch that bear video, and it's a little chilling to see him truckin' right past your rocking chair buddy!

Yeah, he was here last night too.

Made quite the mess.

How come now that I own a bear gun, all of a sudden I want to go out and turn these Critters into fur rugs?

There's plenty here for anyone who wants to pay their $50 tag to go drag one out of their den the weekend before Christmas.

Yes, that's sarcasm.

So this Slaughter of defenseless and cornered bears is condoned by the state of Kentucky while ordinary good sport hunting of bears is not?

Now that I think of it sure it's exactly the same way these Demofascists treat humans.

They don't call you out to defend your honor in the public street in broad daylight, like Luke McCain outside the saloon.

They show up while you're asleep with your wife and kids.

You know, I just looked.

It appears that in zone 1 (where I live), they are going to allow an archery season quota hunt this year.

For a week in October.

Maybe I'll set on the porch with my crossbow. Least it won't be much different than any other day.

You want to know what's worse?

Zone 2, away from where I live and where there are fewer bear, allows twice as many to be harvested.

Those people in Frankfort, really hate Harlan.

Oct. 27 - Nov. 2, 2018

zone 1
Five (5) bears or two (2) female bears, whichever is reached first

zone 2
Ten (10) bears or four (4) female bears, whichever is reached first

And here is the population map that is on their website listed below.

Kentucky is home to a growing bear population. Long-term monitoring and ongoing research has identified the core population as concentrated along the Pine, Cumberland, and Black Mountain areas within in Harlan, Letcher, and Pike counties.

I knew a couple of months ago that the Apple Orchard near the Harlan/Letcher county line wasn't going to be selling apples this year due to damage from bears. They finally made a spot on the evening news about it.

There is some video at the link above, this is just an exerpt of the text:

“We've seen a lot of that more this year than we ever have,” says Creech. “You got these aggressive bears and they got a bad attitude and they just want to rip the trees up. That's where I can't take that.”

He’s lost more than a dozen trees to bears this year. He can get new trees, that’s not the issue.

“It isn’t how much the tree costs, it's the 15 years I got invested in it,” said Creech. “A lot of the time these bears weigh 300-400 pounds and he just snaps it right off.”

Another person killed by Bear in the Smokey Mountain National Park this weekend.

Previous story:
Park rangers said Friday they are still trying to euthanize a bear that was found acting aggressively near the "scavenged" body of a man.
The remains of William Lee Hill Jr., 30, of Louisville, Tennessee, were found Tuesday in Great Smoky Mountains National Park..
