Well, now the liberals have regained control of the house. I suppose Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters and cohorts are seriously planning to blow up the Trump presidency. Not for the good of the country, but for their own personal agenda.

The good news is that Trump has an easier path to get federal judges approved. I am hoping another SCOTUS vacancy happens soon.

Overall not happy.

Locally the dems won the Governers race as well as many other local seats.

The new governer wants us to be a sanctuary state.

We passed the recreational pot useage with lower tax and higher possession limits than other states.

We voted to appoint an group to handle redistricting after the Census. (Which will prob cost more than the tax on pot will bring in)

And we voted to allow people to register at the polls on election day which I see as just a another step towards election fraud.

Our senate seat was retained by "Liberal Debbie" Stabenow.

I really have nothing positive to report...other than ...

Sessions resigned today on the request of Trump. I'm thinking he's ready to tackle the BS associated with the Mueller investigation that Sessions recused himself from.

I hope you are right WM. Two years and nothing, unless...

Maybe Mueller is chasing real Russian story. That would be Hillary and the DNC.

It's a fiasco up here in Connecticut ....
Same crap...new gov.

FL results were OK, IMO. My former US Rep. is now Governor and Colonel Mike Waltz is now his replacement. Senilator Nelson will be gone soon with outgoing Governor Scott taking his place. Idiots voted most of the stupid amendments in, including felons can vote and no more dog tracks. Same idiots that got pregnant sow enclosure minimum requirements put INTO the constitution. It is probably true that felons will tend to vote Dumpocrap more so to be able to get "free stuff" but skin color may have a lot to do with it, also.

I am all for recreational pot and taxation thereof--just like tobacco and liquor... Needs to be made "legal" on a federal level, first.

I predict there will be a red wave in 2020 similar to the Tea Party wave of 2010. Or civil war...

There was another shooting today in a "gun-free" zone with "illegal" hi-cap mag(s) in CA. I can only think this was another "grey-ops", deep-state plant. When is there going to be a real American Hero that takes out some of the loathsome creatures with the nasty mouths in Congress?

I heard something about Ginsburg collapsing or something. I'm sure Trumpy has a suitable uber-conservative judge waiting in the wings to fill her place! To hell with confirmation hearings! ;) This will certainly lead to a Dumpo melt-down! :D

Gun Grabbin' Gavin Newsom has defeated Cox for governor here. Polisi and Feinstein still roam the halls, and several solid, long-time republican reps were voted out in favor of young, minority, know-nothings brought up on Disney movies and socialist lies.

Even though pot was legalized here 2 years ago, there are still no real legal stores, except in a few small outlying towns. It's a total money looser for the state to try and tax and control pot, since we have the biggest illegal crop in the nation by about 10x.

In addition there is already "legal" "medical" pot, and anybody can get a prescription if you go to the "right" doctor and tell them you have insomnia. The law allows people with a prescription to buy much more than any one person will use, so the black market has actually expanded in this regard, as "patients" are selling the stuff too.

Because of this situation with the black market, nobody is really clamoring for the state to allow open stores, where anyone can buy IF they pay the EXTRA TAX Calif is NOT charging "medical patients".

The stuff is evidently still cheaper in the streets than in any store, so: game lost. Tax collection is low and enforcement expenses high.

Once again our government does everything wrong, and the violent and dangerous smuggling and illegal farming activities will not stop.

And it is spreading across the landscape at an alarming rate. I hear about Canada legalizing pot, along with many states in the USA. What I don't hear about is legalization of pot in Mexico. Interesting, hmmm.

I hear about Canada legalizing pot, along with many states in the USA.

As a devout capitalist, I believe in making marijuana legal at the federal level leaving the states to decide. If the USAG merely changes the Schedule from I to II, banks can legally handle money from the proceeds of sales and transfer funds inter-state. A state or local gov't is technically breaking federal law by collecting taxes on it! The Libertarian in me says "No one is forcing you to buy it or ingest it so why would you care?" It is ridiculous in this day and age that anyone would oppose "legalization" or more technically making it less illegal...

as a librarian I like the self cancelling nature of the new set up .
Legal pot is more win than lose in these parts......nothing really changed other than two things, its always been in the shadows but now in the open and the state is richer . If people choose to take advantage then there it is , if not then don't......pretty simple and feels like freedom. Its no different than moonshine being available in the liquor store.......weed is the west coast moonshine, its always been in these mountains and always will be .....its just a matter of hiding or not .

Oli, You may have a device that doesn't understand the word libertarian. ;)

However as a librarian please feel free to stop any book burnings that you see occurring!
