Limbsaver Pistol Grip Recoil Pad

I have the Phoenix Kick-Lite stock on my Mav and the hard pistol grip starts to hurt my hand in the area between my thumb and forefinger. The solution I'm hoping will fix it is the Limbsaver Pistol Grip Recoil Pad #12014. It's designed for small auto pistols or AR15/M4 style grips. It fit like a charm on my Kick-Lite and changes the whole feel of it. I haven't been to the range yet to try but when I do, I will post a follow-up. I'll also post pics if anyone wants to see it.

Honestly the best thing to fix this is to change your technique a bit.

Push forward on the forend and allow your support arm to absorb the majority of the recoil.

I'm not saying the limb saver won't help but in the long run, you are still going to end up sore if you shoot enough.

I appreciate the advice but my shooting technique is as you described.
Even so, the hard plastic still causes soreness. I just wanted to put little padding in that spot to absorb some of the recoil.

Sorry within the context of this thread I had no idea what style or skill set you possessed so I was trying to start from the basics.

I definitely think the LS pad could help you in that case.

It's cool. Like I said, I appreciate the help. I posted as information to anyone else who might be experiencing a similar problem.

I haven't tried any fancy grips or stocks yet for various reasons. What has worked for me though, is the mechanix extra padded gloves. They're nice combat groves AND shooting pistol grip ain't nothin with em. :) Just wanted to share that for anyone who can't/hasn't gotten a fancy ATI grip for whatever reason.

I bought a LimbSaver recoil pad for my 88 since the default one is a piece of hard black rubber. Later on I bought a Hogue over molded buttstock with a 12" LOP. The recoil pad on the Hogue is not bad either.
