Mag Tube locktite ?

I'm thinking irregardless of the facts you have stated, some folks will want to have some sort of thread lock in there just because it came with something similar from the factory.

Sorry Joe but to me that makes no sense.
But then I am the kind of guy that actually cleans mag tubes.
Something that cannot be done with a mag tube glued in place.

I'm not saying it makes sense, I'm just saying that is the way a lot of people think.
When I put a jack shaft in to a transfer case I apply red lock-tite to all 8 bolts, then I get a tourque wrench and tighten them to spec, is it over kill? Perhaps, but thats the way they want it done.
Do I want to choke the engineer that gave me 18 inches of room to do all of that while working nearly upside down? You betcha!

many things that the factories do are for cyb reasons. don't make it right or wrong though.
the owner certainly has a choice. I worked on Mercedes benzes for near 40 years.
believe me when I say there was a lot of cyb done on those cars that made no sense.

I dont use any loctite in my 500 mag tube & never had any problems
