Magazine Plug Screw

sullivan

.270 WIN
Would someone please tell me the correct description for the magazine plug screw, part No. 44? Mine is too short to enter the blind hole in the underside of the barrel and the whole tube is sliding forward during firing, resulting in vertical stringing.
As near as I can measure the thread diameter is 0.205" or a little over 13/64". The tpi is 33, again as near as I can measure. These measurements do not conform to UNF or UNC, so it is a mystery. The overall length including head is 3/4", excluding the head, the threaded and tuned-down portions come to 0.7".
Here's hoping and thanks in advance

I got nothing for you unless something is amiss with your gun. Maybe have to wiggle the tube or barrel to get them to line up better so you can use the shorter screw? Is this the original screw? If you lost the original I'd call Mossberg for a replacement...

PS: many guns use "special" threads often finer than commercially available...
