Magpul Forward Sling Mount Scratching

I shot my 590A1 yesterday for the first time. The day before that I disassembled it, cleaned it, and lubricated it. To do so I had to remove the Magpul Forward Sling Mount. After completing the cleaning and lubricating I re-attached it.

After shooting I removed the barrel to clean it and saw this after I removed the Forward Sling Mount.






Is this scratching along the barrel & magazine tube normal?

Thanks for the info. I think I might stick with the bayonet lug if I can get it from Mossberg. I think it wil be a pain to remove the front swing mount each time I want to clean my 590A1. I'll see.

The key is to keep it tight and to always put it back in the same place. It's gonna scratch, but it'll be under the bracket.. JMO
