Maverick Arms tightening the belt.

I just bought my 4th Mav 88, a security 18". Didnt realize till I got home the Big Mossberg sticker on the stock is gone also the Maverick 88 etching on the receiver. Its all meat & potatos now with the only markings above the magazine entrance. Just like all things I guess. There is alot of cheaper competition.

I see getting rid of the giant Maverick label as a positive move. In 1990, I bought my first new shotgun, a Maverick 88 that came with both a fixed full choke barrel and a slug barrel with rifle sights. Not only did it not have that billboard on the side of the receiver back then but the barrels where still being marked as Mossberg 500. They’re such reliable utilitarian guns that I’ve bought several later manufacture Mavericks with the large engraving for gifts to my sons but it’s tacky in my opinion.

Pulled out all 3 of mine, all have the billboard on the left side of the receiver. Go figure!
