Mossberg 400G shotgun

Just wondering if anyone knew the differences between the 400G and 500 series shotguns. Would also like to know the years the 400G were produced.

Thanks

I've seen some sources that describe the Mossberg 400G as being produced under license by a Canadian ( Ontario ) company by the name of Lake Field Arms Ltd. ...dates of manufacture not listed. In 1994, Lake Field Arms Ltd. was sold to Challenger Industries, a holding company that also owned Savage Arms and Passive Bullet Trap, located in Westfield, Mass, U.S.

That would be cool.

Basically looking for detailed info, as to the differences between the 400G and the 500 series.

I was told they are identical but Id like a second opinion.

Thanks
