Bubba's Facelift Is Finally Complete (Photo Heavy)
Sorry if you have already seen this. Since I just did the new barrel, I figured I would share so that newer folks might pick up the idea of Sponge Paint Camo.
I love the way this works out.
Cant wait to get me an old beater 20ga to do this to as well (Different colors though)
The story of Bubba one of my 12ga 500's
For those that have not seen this, there is a thread on this forum with links about Sponge Painting Camo on your guns.
Bubba was a purchase off of Gunbroker for $160.
It had an old beat up factory camo job, but worked fantastic and was slick as melted butter.
When my friend and transfer FFL first saw it, he said "Looks like a Bubba rattle can paint job" The name stuck!
I put a C-Lect barrel on it for ease of choke adjustment. I did not paint the barrel since I also use the barrel for Sporting clays on another of my 500's.
2 weeks ago I found an old 26" C-Lect barrel without a rib on Gunbroker for $39.99!!!!
Got the barrel and shot some Skeet with it. Everything functioned fine and the clays broke as expected. So out came the paint again and I painted the barrel to match the gun.
Sunday I was invited to shoot over a friends dog in a little Pre Pheasant Season dog trials at her club. She was more interested in making sure that her dog was working well than shooting the birds and she knows how much I love pheasant hunting.
Me and Bubba were both excited! LOL!
Her dog did good finding the birds, so when the day was done I had taken 3 shots and dropped 3 Pheasants!
I love 500's and I love this gun!!!!!
