Mossberg Owners Forum Troubleshooting...

Re: GearHog Banner

I just tried from my Android phone and it is doing the same thing. This is over the data network as well as on my WiFi network. 2 differant browsers as well. Like I said it's only with the GearHog banner that's what makes me think it's just an extra target tag somewhere in there.

Re: GearHog Banner

I'm having issues with the Amazon banner.

On my handheld (Droid), when the Amazon link is up it takes over the whole touch screen. When I tap anywhere on the page I am directed to Amazon.com.

Site problems?

Is it just me, or is there an awful lot of red x's and invisible text on everyone's screen?

Re: Site problems?

I'm getting a lot of it. Images are not coming though very well, sometimes they display, others they don't. I hit refresh and it changes the jumble but does not fix the problem.

Text seems OK

Re: Site problems?

I am working on finding out what is causing this problem. Thanks for letting me know.

Re: Site problems?

Not sure without being on your side of it, but with the banner issues and now this it seems like maybe whatever database system you're using (I'm assuming SQL) is having issues storing data properly. Maybe corrupt or could be a server issue timing out before data transfers are complete.

Re: Site problems?

The same issues appear at remingtonowners.com as well.

I assume they are all hosted together.

Re: Site problems?

I'm assuming they have different databases, but they are probably hosted on the same database server. Same with the websites. So I don't really have a way to determine which it is beyond my guess. I've done quite a bit of php and sql coding in my days, but most of it was on the design side vs the function side so I'm just throwing out guesses from the limited understanding on the back end workings of this stuff.

Re: Site problems?

Yes you are correct, it is something to do with our database and we are working on getting it corrected.

Re: Site problems?

Not trying to bust balls, was just trying to throw some advice your way. You're doing an awesome job. I understand how much of a headache it is to keep sites of this size going on a daily basis and I give you mad pops homie g!

Re: Site problems?

Nice, everything is functioning correctly on my side again. As always, thanks for the quick response guys!

What happened to the youtube video in some of the posts - they are just a big white square.

I noticed the same thing. Even the "Welcome to Mossberg Owners" video in the new memeber welcome section is a blank white square.
