Ok. Here's the scoop on mounting a muzzle brake on this rifle.
Mossberg says the thread is 11/16-24 IT IS NOT.
IF you buy one of these rifles like I did you may need to
check the thread pitch. I paid good money for a brake that
was 11/16-24 and it didn't fit. I bought a thread adapter and
it didn't fit either.
I miked the threads and came up with 0.625 which is 5/8"
I decided to just take the rifle up to Randy at his shop
Randy's Custom Rifles in NW Wyoming where I live.
He fixed me up with a real nice brake and I just finished shooting
the rifle with Hornady Precision Hunter 230gr ammo and the brake
works real good. SO what was the thread on my muzzle that Randy
screwed the brake onto???
5/8-24 is the winning ticket.
Mossberg doesn't even know the thread pitch on the rifle they built and sold.
Amazing!
Hope this helps some of you out......
