New member from Missouri

Hello all! New Mossberg owner from the St. Louis area. Just picked up a military overrun 500A (Model 50474), it's my first Mossberg so I'm very excited to take it out and get familiar with it. This gun will be primarily used for HD, so the majority of my time will be spent in the HD/tactical section.

Happy shooting!
Tim

Welcome to Mossberg Owners Forum!

Welcome aboard!

We've got a great group of folks here on Mossberg Owners and the atmosphere is very laid back. The only thing we like better than discussing each other's guns is lookin at 'em, so be sure to post up some pics of your new 500 along with any other firearms you own in the various sub-forums. You'll find that we're into a lot more than just Mossberg around here. Let us know if you have any questions.

Enjoy the site!

Hiya!!! Sounds like a sweet gun, so get to postin some pics n stuff! :D

So it was intended to be an issue firearm? Welcome to Mossberg Owners!!!

I guess I would say it was originally destined to be a service weapon. The story from different dealers say this was a quantity overrun, originally ordered and built for the marines, they released "1500 to the public." Take that for what it's worth, it seems a bit like a gimmick, but I can't find the model # on the mossberg site, and it does have the new military markings on it. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
