Very helpful and useful info guys, I agree with Dan, maps will definitely help. I'm going to start a thread like this in the Northeast section....I was at a range in Norwalk that was awesome.

I believe there is a casual range in an old quarry
in Eastern Long Island (Quogue). Sunrise Hwy to
exit 64, County Rd 104. South about a mile
on the right- old wood sign and onto a dirt road about 100yds
in. Fence and trailer on property. Cost $10 all day, bring your own
supplies, shoot any caliber, any gun, any target.
I haven't lived there in 5 yrs, but thats where I used to shoot.

Also there is now one at William Floyd Park. It was closed many years
but now open. Sunrise hwy (Route 27) to William Floyd Parkway north.
About 1 mile on the right.

Headed to Brookhaven tomorrow for 3-4 rounds of trap and hopefully 40 or so rounds at the 100yd with the (4X4) 30-06. Anyone around?

There was an indoor range in Middletown NY that let me shoot the 7.62 Mosin Nagant that I had... don't remember if they allowed shotguns, but I can't see why they wouldn't.
