This morning the news is reporting 5 folks dead as a result of hurricane Florence.

One was a man that was electrocuted starting a generator. I know, he probably would not have tried to start it if not for the hurricane.

Now my question is this, if I accidentally shoot myself while cleaning my gun am I a casualty of the war on terror ?

I know that's a stretch, but on the other hand...

This is just like when they include carbon monoxide poisoning (ie: a gen running in the garage) as one of the statistics. Technically yes, the hurricane "caused" the casualty but Darwin was holding the victim's hand...

Another "casualty of Florence" was a woman that had a heart attack. The EMTs could not get to her because of the flood waters.

I think she was a victim of the heart problem, not the storm. Not that it matters... unless there is a court case.
