LES, I agree. The objective we should have is to win Hearts and Minds. Confrontation, and getting in peoples faces isn't going to do it. That just raises hackles.
The problem, of course, is that the general populace has been indoctrinated to freak out at the sight of a firearm in public unless it's carried by a LEO. To overcome that, we need to have business owners post signs welcoming people who are carrying (open or concealed), rather than just not posting no guns signs. The business community is not helping by just being silent on the issue. If a few places started posting the sign below, and business picked up, other businesses would follow for no other reason than a profit motive. Money talks, BS walks. The recent pro-gun laws passed in MS and elsewhere only give us the opportunity to change attitudes.
