Range Time Targets, what do you use?

yeah, I use one paper target per firearm per session now just to make sure thinks haven't moved around on me, the rest is on steel and Tannerite

Need to party in a free state. I ain't got no time to be waiting a few years to get into a private range here in NY.

Only time I get to shoot steel is at a firearm course or at competitions. Jealousy runs deep in my response to you gentlemen.

I got a place for you to rest your head if you ever make it this way.....

We'll drive around and say "this looks good" set up and start shooting. Couldn't imagine life any other way......I wont imagine it. You could walk one direction for a week, with your rifle on your back, and not see or hear a soul and if you did they wouldn't even bat an eye if you had 10 rifles on your back.

couple weeks ago a good friend and I wanted to hike to a cave we hadn't been to since we were kids.
long story short the BLM closed the cave off for the bats lol.
I wanted to carry my chest rig because you have to scale some rocks and such so I wanted to make sure it felt fine and all, not in the public eye so I had on camo pants, full chest rig and my AR. This turned into about a 6 hour hike and we came out of the wood in the dark a couple miles from my truck, we know where we were and knew just walking the ditch would be the quickest way.
A little way down the road an old boy pulls up from behind in his truck and said "you guys need a ride?"......imagine that happening anywhere else.....two guys packing black rifles and enough mags and ammo to make a good stand, camo......neither one of us new the guy. We declined and he said "have a nice night, probably get my truck full of ticks anyway" as he laughed lol

Keep it free in Oregon. I'm making my way inward from the coast in about 5 years.

A few more years of experience under my belt and money in the bank and I can set up shop anywhere and live well doing less and smelling more freedom.

Until then I'll keep fighting the good fight here in this socialist nightmare.

I just got my 1st steel target from AR500 Target Solutions. Target stand on it's way, I'll post pics when it arrives.

You are gonna have a lot of fun. Steel is so rewarding.

And... inexpensive spray paint is only a dollar a can.

:)

I have gongs painted yellow and green and red and orange and pink and white and blue and .....

Some of them, I even got fancy and made faces on them with permanent marker.

The pink one looks like a pig.

The orange one looks like a jack-o-lantern.

Might as well have a little fun with it.

^ Let me know how well that plate "rings".

Dampening the vibrations with a solid mount changes the feedback, at least it does for me.

I guess I failed to add a pic to this thread of my AR500 plate range that I put on my property. It's fifty yards from my front door.

The black swingers are handgun only but if it's a round or square plate it loves rifle rounds. Max distance over flat mowed grass is 144 yards.

For rifle we shoot at 2", 4", 6" and 8" AR 500 steel gongs from shootingtargets7.com. For pistol we shoot at two IPSC silhouette targets we got from a local guy. The range we shoot at has 10" and 12" gongs out at 300 yards, but we like more of a challenge. The range has no steel pistol targets so we get a lot of jealous looks when we start ringing steel. My wife used to like the Shoot'n'see targets, but I was going broke buying them for her. She'll burn up 400 rounds in her 9mm on a range day. Buying the repaintable steel was a no brainer.
