Sticking action and trigger

I was doing a bit of dry-fire practice today to work on my pullrack and trigger control techniques. Both leave much to be desired at this point, but that's another story. I noticed two problems I need help diagnosing whether it's me or the gun. First, sometimes it wouldn't pump after I pulled the trigger. I thought I was twisting the forend or something at first, and a couple times it was me trying to rack it before the trigger actually broke. But I couldn't see anything I was doing wrong a few times. I'm not using dummy shells, so it isn't a feed problem. Maybe a lack of lube? It feels like it's locked solid when I pull.

Second problem, occasionally the trigger won't move. This seems to depend on whether I'm pulling straight back or not. Again, lack of lube? Short in the operator?
