I think its a good idea if you need to carry it in a bah or something without a holster. Fr me any other carry would involve a full holster.

Aside from that Raven makes quality gear.

They work great for small guns like the Ruger LCP, I have something similar, mine is a bit larger however to cover a bit of the frame also. I don't know about something like this with a bigger heavier weapon though.

Well if I carry it would be the XDs-9 for me; but I, too, just do not see this as enough holster to keep things stable.

Nah, I wouldn't want it on anything larger or heavier than my LCP.

Like others have posted, maybe with a Ruger LCP, LC9 or similar. For my full size Glock, I'll stick with a hybrid IWB holster.
