As we found out in this post not all Mossberg receivers and trigger assemblies are the same. Somewheres around 1990 Mossberg beefed up the trigger which required a larger cut in the receiver.
Today we cut our Country Squire Test Mule® to find out what it would take to fit a new trigger into an old gun. We found it to be quite easy. A dremel will cut the luminum very quickly and only a small cut is required. In fact, the factory enlarged cut is too much; you can get a much better fit yourself. So if you need a new trigger in your old gun- get out the grinder!
