While this isn't directly gun related it shows where the progressive socialists of the world want to go. Knife murders in London have caused that city to pass NY City in murder rate for the first time in modern history. Obviously they must need knife control laws.

I think this from the link says a lot:
The U.K. government is expected to introduce a ban on online knife sales and home knife deliveries, declare it "illegal to possess zombie knives and knuckledusters in private" — "zombie knives" are those defined as being manufactured for the purpose of being used as a person-to-person weapon — and ban sales of caustic materials to anyone under the age of 18, the Independent reports.

So now we have knives with the only purpose is to kill humans and I think it says a lot that they need to ban the sale of caustic materials but didn't note why. Acid attacks are also on the uprise. They still won't say the increase is from middle east immigrants.

Don't they already have a ban on "Pointy" knives and only sell knives with blunt ends?

Violent people will perform violent acts.

The most effective way to stop a violent person performing a violent act is with a gun.

Even the anti-gun people admit this, else they would want to disarm the police and military.

The world has been, is and will continue to be populated with evil violent people who wish to inflict harm on others. That is a fact and nothing can be done to change that.

If people think removing guns and knives and pointy sticks will make people get along then they have never really watched what goes on in nature.

I have carried a knife in my pocket every single day since I was in the 4th grade.

Yes, that included school, church, and everywhere else my feet has walked.

A lot of the young generation would probably be surprised that I also legally had my shotgun in my dorm room in college too.

I think I carried my knife regularly starting in 6th or 7th grade. Granted John was probably out of college by that point. [emoji39]. Never had any trouble with it.

Threads merged here.....

The mayor of London wants knives banned in London due to that city passing New York City's homicide rate this year.
weapon of choice, knives.

What next ? Hands, rocks, hammers ?

Bad people will be bad no matter what they have to use.

I had knives at a young age and sometimes carried them. When I was in the 9th grade I carried one for defense. A pervert called our house one day and got my little sister to listen to him while he asked her sexually explicit questions. My mom told me that since our number was in the phone book he would have our address and she was worried she would be snatched. I would walk her home the rest of the school year. After a day or two it dawned on my that I was just a 14 year old kid and would be no match for a grown man. After that I carried a 4" folding blade the rest of the year. I never mentioned it to anyone and nobody at school would have cared anyway.

I wonder if people actually put knives in these. I'm thinking maybe I should set one up in town.

faggotry.

The bin that is.

Like John, I have carried a knife every day since around 3 or 4th grade. A lil small folder. I still have it too...
And, in all those years, I have never ever attempted to harm anyone with it.

But, I was raised with respect towards others, unlike the majority of douchenozzles these days. There's something to be said and learned from getting a good whoopin on your backside.
The government took that away from us. And they have this to deal with with. Instead of punishment they just take things away from you. Pretty soon, you'll be left with nothing but sticks and stones to play with.
But we all know those break bones, so those will be taken away also...

As soon as I earned my Cub Scout Whittling Chip, my father gave me a nice little Case knife to put in my pocket. I've carried a knife ever since. I can remember teachers occasionally borrowing it because 1) they knew I had one and 2) they knew it was always sharp.

In high school, lots of us boys (and some of the girls) had a knife in our pocket. The only time anyone got in trouble over it was if they were caught carving on a desk.

Heck, it wasn't unusual to have a shotgun or rifle in your vehicle out in the school parking lot, possibly hanging in a rifle rack in full view.

No, this wasn't some little podunk town. This was in Dallas at the largest high school in the state (at the time). The night I graduated, they handed out over 1,100 diplomas.

The thing is that its been illegal for many years to carry a knife with a blade over 3'' without "good reason"... my EDC is a Victorinox Swiss Army knife with a 2 3/4'' blade.

As you said, acid attacks are on the increase, initially mainly used by asian familys in "honor" attacks, but now also used by gangs, and sometimes just random attacks.

The "zombie knife" thing came about as a typical knee-jerk reaction when one gang member killed another gang member with a knife which was luminous green with "zombie killer" painted on it.... the sort of cheap cr*p you see on Ebay.

But apparently being bright green and having "violent" wording on it makes it a virtual WMD and simply owning one turns you into a psycopathic killer.... nowadays you can take a normal kitchen knife, write Zombie Killer on it with a Sharpie, and you're in posession of an illegal weapon....

The worlds gone mad........

My 15yo son and I took a ride to the local "pull-n-pay" junkyard Easter Sunday. It would be his first visit to a yard and definitely a multipally teachable experience (ie: "see the damage on this car?", "this part does THIS", etc.) It is just about a 1/2 hour ride but much to my consternation they had the nerve to be CLOSED on Easter!

Sitting in front of the closed gate I sez "What do you want to do? You want to go to the beach? Or get something to eat?" In his best decisive tone he says: "I don't know..."

Then I get a brainstorm and say "Let's go to the Flea Market!" LINK The market was about 2min away and neither of us had ever been there before so our destination was then decided.

While there we perused the countless numbers of booths many of which were closed for the holiday and many were closing early. On the way out we came across a guy in the center of the aisle who had all manner of edged, blunt, extendable and pointy stick firing weapons. A "cheapy" crossbow pistol caught my eye and was priced right at $15. Alas, he was out of extra arrows so no sale was made.

Getting back OT, he had a large display of "automatic" knives of increasing length and cost. One Italian stiletto I handled was many bits above $100 and went "kachunk!" when activated.

It was well over 14" deployed!

The merchant assured me that it was "legal" to carry as long as I had a carry permit (which I do). We will go back some day as the merchant was a very nice guy and had been in the market for over 20 years and counting...
