Used barrel question (500A)

iTonka

Copper BB
I am considering buying a used one. It shoots really well and cycle smooth without jams, however, is the inside of a 500a barrel completely smooth. On this one, i can see almost at the tip of the barrel, two areas that looks like scratch. Is that normal on this model or should I backdown from purchasing it?

Welcome to the forum from NY.
Any chance you can post a pic or two of the inside of the barrel ?

I'll second that.

Tool marks are typically visible throughout the barrel. Only other thing I can think of is pitting from rust...

With as easy as it is to polish or even replace a barrel, I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor. In my opinion, as long as everything else is really solid and functions as it should, I'd get it.

The bore in my 26 in improved barrel is shiney smooth till you getTo the last 6 in or so and then its just dull. This has had very few rounds through it. Even if it wasn't shinny I wouldn't be bothered by it.
