What the hell federal?

Purchased four boxes of Federal Field & Range from a big-box store in town. Three of the four were fine, one had an issue:


I inspected all one hundred shells at home. The five shells you see above all came from the same box, though I know not exactly where in the box as I dumped the whole thing to inspect the shells. The box itself shows no sign of water damage, so I'm not sure what happened.

I have been noticing more defective ammunition lately myself.

I got one .357 & it had two slugs stuffed on top of the powder from the factory.

I've had several rifle cartridges with Mis-seated primers.

So far I've had really good luck with shotgun shells though.
