Which mossberg do I have

Bought new mossberg 500 persuader,12 gauge,8 shot, 20" barrel, serial u215xxx.
Gun looks identical to any other 500 persuader except where the 500 model on
the bottom of the action should be stamped, it is stamped 590. Is this common?

Somehow 500 parts got put on a 590 receiver. Is the gun new, as in brand-frickin-new from a reputable dealer? Very curious if this mix-up happened in the plant. Can you post a picture of the I.D. label on the box?
 
Bought brand new at Dick's. Box serial number same as on gun. Have picture of id label & gun on iPad. Don't know how to add to this. Send email, will be glad to send them to you.
 
Is the model number on the box label 50645 or 50577?

The local shop where I bought my 590 had it tagged as a model 500. There are model 500's that use 590 barrels/mag tubes, but I've never seen it the other way around...
 
You got a 590 for 500 price and you're complaining?!? ;) :D Does this have a magazine tube cap or a takedown screw? Maybe they ran out of 500 receivers on the line and started throwing 590 receivers in... Did they bless you with a metal trigger housing, as well? :p
