Who controls the Courthouse?

A very interesting decision was handed down today from the MS Supreme Court, having to do with who is in charge of courthouse rules pertaining to no-guns policy. Briefly the Sheriffs office won the case, the judges lost. Read it anyway, since it may have some bearing on other States in which a judge arbitrarily forbids firearms in whatever building or parking lot he thinks he owns.

A buddy of mine is/was a "sheriff" in RI. In RI, a "sheriff" is actually a court officer, transferring prisoners and the like. Not really a guy that would be able to function as a law enforcement officer as he was not in the "best" shape. Perhaps the bailiffs are in the same slow boat?
