New guy from Canada eh!

Hey folks,

Just joined the forums as I just purchased my first shotgun. I hail from Prince George, BC. Moved up north here from farther north than most of you and have recently got in to hunting. Got my gun licence and bought a 30-06 with a tasco 3x9. Shot a lot last year, waiting for the snow to melt so I can get out again. Just bought a maverick 88. Never shot a shotgun before, soo much fun! i got it mainly for bear defence as I spend a lot of time in grizzly territory, the moose are pretty darn mean too. Hoping to do some elk hunting this coming season, lots of work ahead, but i can't wait.
Cheers!

Welcome to Mossberg Owners Forum!

Welcome aboard!

Which model .30-06 did you get? We've got a great group of folks here on Mossberg Owners and the atmosphere is very laid back. The only thing we like better than discussing each other's guns is lookin at 'em, so be sure to post a pic of your new Mav88. Take a look around and you'll find that we're into a lot more than just Mossberg around here. Jump in on the conversation anywhere and let us know if you have any questions.

Enjoy the site!

I have a newer mauser 30-06, with a wood stock and a 3x9 tasco sight. Nothing too fancy. Got it for a great deal off my teacher, who also happens to have a record for the 1000 yard shot in town here. looking at getting a tikka t3 with the laminated stock this year, and a nicer scope as well. Ill get some pics up when I can.
Cheers!

I do plan on attaching the ati tactical kit to the 88. I really like the action of the 88, just not super keen on the plastic foregrip and butt, though they do function perfectly. Just bought a cool strap for her too!

Here's my babies, sorry the photo is vertical, photobucket is being stupid.
