I'm thinking about replacing the OME stock and forend with a Magpul stock and forend on my 590A1. I know about removing the trigger group with a Magpul stock installed but was wounding, If there is any interference with the forend rubbing the heavy wall barrel when cycling the action.
Water Monkey Great post that is exactly what I found and after a little adjustment it has been running flawlessly. I think when I receive the parts from Mossberg I'll just keep them for spares, my 590a1 is running so good I'll just leave it as is.
The first time out was with two boxes(50 rounds) of Winchester AA 7 1/2 low brass 1300 fps for test and funtion of the shotgun. It was running flawlessly then after about 30 rounds I started with the feeding issue. I returned to the range the next morning after making the adjustment to the...
Picked up my 590A1 with XS ghosts ring sight and after a good cleaning I went to the range and after about 30 rounds the gun started to miss picking up a shell from the magazine tube about one in five rounds. Then it started to increase to about every other round until it would not feed at all...
I just purchase a 590a1 with XS ghost ring sights 51771 that looks exactly like a Blackwater 51772 model, but the one I purchased is not marked with the Blackwater logo. Do they still produce the Blackwater or did my 51771 replace it?
I had a double feed one time when I put to much oil on the shell release were it makes contact with the shell. #4 is the way it's designed. Not sure why but some 930's have some strange issues until a couple hundred rounds are put through them then they seem to clear up.
I agree, was just trying the low recoil stuff to see how low I could go. My 930SPX is for home defense so I use nothing lower than the standard 00 buck, 1325fps.
I also just put the Choate Mark 5 postol grip stock on my 930 SPX. I seem to get on target faster with better control. And no I have no issues with the safety.
My factory spring length is 35 inches.
Yes I can load seven 2 3/4 in the magazine and that is with a new non binding magazine follower that has a tail used help to keep the spring from binding.
No feeding issues, my 930SPX is for home defense so the only ammunition used are full power 00 buck...
No but I found that if it has a fps over 1200 it will cycle with no issues. I'm not to concerned because my 930 SPX is for home defense and I will only shot standard load (1325 fps) 00 buck.
Have you had any FTE when using anything under 1200 fps out of the short barrel (18 1/2) 930 SPX. My 930SPX has been 100% except when using anything under 1200 fps then I'll get 2 or 3 out of 10 FTE.
Thank you, this old Marine has a habit of keeping all my firearms as clean as possible. It must be the manufactur of the shells. I use a couple of different shells for home defense, Remington, Winchester and Federal all are over 1300 fps. Never had an issue in fact never had a malfunction until...
It was with reduced recoil Fiocchi 00 buck 1150 fps. Of the 10 shells in the box 3 did not eject. When it malfunctioned the hull was half way out of the chamber and a new shell was out of the magazine jamed under the spent shell. To clear I just had to pull back on the bolt handle to complete...
