270 extractor

My nephew has a Mossberg 100 ATR bolt action rifle in 270 win. The extractor is broken and missing. The spring is still intact but we need a new extractor. Is it possible to acquire a new one and if so how much? Also can someone give any insight to what might cause this. We had to tap the round ( unfired bullet and case ) out of the chamber. This was a very tight fit compared to past experience
Just not sure why this happened. He was shooting Winchester ballistic silver tip with nickel or stainless case.
Any suggestions ??

Not sure why this happened, but we have a contact at Mossberg that has agreed to help us out with issues like yours. Send Joe an e-mail with a description of the issue and replacement parts you need. He should be able to get them sent out to...
