,410 chamber size

hi-i purchased a model 500 (.410) about 2 years ago. the barrel says 3" and 2 1/2 " does that mean i can not shoot 2 3/4" shells ?

why does it have 2 sizes instead of just saying 3" shells ?

welcome to the forum from NY. Anywhere near Otisville?
It is chambered for 2 1/2" and 3" shells you can shoot either size and the 2 3/4".

any idea why it list 2 sizes ( 3" and 2 1/2") instead of just 3" ---- meaning 3 and under

no idea. i'd say because there are different size shells for different uses.
Where that started I couldn't tell ya.
