500 Barrel Durability

I am new to shotguns and recently purchased a 500 Tactical with a standard barrel, and was wondering if shooting slug would harm the barrel. Thanks in advance for your wise counsel.

Won't hurt it a bit and with some regular maintenance it should last a lifetime.

Nope, as long as you are not doing something stupid, the barrel will outlast you.

And by stupid I mean shooting things the barrel was not designed to shoot and or shooting over powered reloads, etc.

Durability? Have you seen the hell Matt at Demolition Ranch (link) put his 500 through? He finally plugged the barrel and only then did it rupture.
