500 Persuader action slide

Hog Doc

Can I use a 7 5/8 action slide on my 20 gauge 500 Persuader 5+1 ??
Or do I have to stay with the 6 3/4?

As far as I know you can use either. Just switch forends to fit.

EDIT: and Havlin has them both.

An inch or so.;)

The action tube and forend has to match each other.

I assumed that. No, not being snarky. Just wondering what the pluses and minuses are of each length. Or the need to change, that kind of info. Thanks,

Yeah, you'll find more options for forends for the 7 5/8", at least I did when I wanted to go the tac route.

I can only guess but I would think for stability or production runs. As illustrated by old mossy, a forend nut adaptor would get you to the same place and possibly for cheaper. I would go the cheaper route to acheive the same results. You'd have to shop around because pricing looks about even. With the adaptor option, you won't have a spare slide sitting around or maybe you could sell it for not a lotta dough. If you sell the shorter one then you limit your options later. I think I would go with the adaptor so you can use what ever fore-end you wanted.

Either way good luck.
