The front sight on my mossberg fell off. How do I put it back on?

How did it fall out and what did you end up doing to fix it? Do you have any pictures?

The barrel fell out of the gun safe and must have landed directly on the sight I had it off since it is a combo slug/turkey gun. I took some plyers and sqeezed the bottom of the sight to make it tighter and slipped it back on. I did this a couple times until it was what I thought tight enough to not come off. I then took the little rubber thing in the middle of the barrel and put it in the end to stop the sight from slipping off the barrel.

Will have to see it that is good enough since I have never shot the gun yet.
