590 Mariner Heat Shield Recommendations

Recently got a 9-shot 590 Mariner and I am looking at getting a new heat shield, I am debating on getting the Marine Coat heat shield by Mossberg or one of the ATI heat shields.

Does anyone have recommendations?

There is these two that I am looking at from ATI are...

Anyone with experience with these let me know how they worked, I have a bayonet mount on the way so I have that option, the rails are removable on this mount.

Welcome Matthew,

I do not have any firsthand knowledge of the ATI heat shields, however most heat shields are very basic, if you have a need for the sights or mounts, then I would go that route.

On the bayonet mount, I personally wouldn't consider a bolt on style, as they will move and can cause damage to the barrel or magazine tube or both, I'm not sure how it mounts, however, once again, it's up to you as to what you want/need and like.

Based solely on what I've seen from folks here on MO, I'd recommend the Mossberg heatshield.

I've never seen that mount so can't comment either way.

I have the OEM heat shield from Mossberg for my 590. So far no complaints. Looks like it naturally should be there and blends well with the rest of the gun.
