OK finally got a chance to take my 930 SPX out for its first outing. Ran about 165 rounds of the following:
50 rounds high brass #6 shot Federal (2 3/4")
25 rounds Winchester #7.5 High Brass (2 3/4")
25 rounds Federal #4 High Brass steel shot (3")
25 rounds Winchester #8 low recoil (2 3/4")
20 rounds slugs (weird name forgot it) low recoil (2 3/4")
10 rounds Remmington Slugs (2 3/4")
10 rounds Federal 00 Buck low recoil (2 3/4")
I seem to have feeding issues on the 3rd or 4th round using the #6 shot. Seems the spring either got jammed up in the magazine (i.e. no push on the next round) or it pushed 2 rounds in and it got a log jam.
Weird. That happened 3 times during the # 6 shot.
I moved on to the 3" #4 steel shot and zero jams but that kicked like a mule!
Also had one Jam on the low recoil #8 shot (2 shot loads which log jammed in the magazine loading port) when I mixed up the rounds between #7.5, #8, and #4. However, when I was using the low recoil #8 by itself it seems to cycle just fine.
No jams with the 00 Buck or any of the slugs.
I took the shotgun apart when I came home and cleaned big time and oiled it in the recommended areas. Hopefully that does the trick and it figures itself out.
Here's the big issue. I placed the Nordic Component Magazine Clamp on the shotgun. Thought I tightened it down pretty good but when I was knocking out the 3" loads the clamp began to move and scrapped up the side of the barrel and magazine. Makes Papa Midnight look ugly
I put some protectant on it after I cleaned it to deter any rust. Any idea on what I can do to fix this? See pics below:
