Tom, I'm not sure of the exact model number I got. I had the option of the home defense barrel (18.5) or what they said was the field gun with a 26" barrel. Even though I was primarily getting it for h.d. I decided I wanted to go with the longer barrel...which now that I'm attempting skeet made for a good choice.
Insane, the Accu-Choke that the gun came with, is what I used the first few times I went. One of the "old timers" at the range explained to me how going to a skeet choke would cause the shot pellets to spread out more coming out of the barrel, thus giving you a better chance of hitting the clays. He also suggested I go to a 9 shot shell instead of the 7 1/2 I'd been using. Both suggestions helped.
I really enjoy it. Shooting at stations 1,2,6,7 I can usually get 80% of the clays, but I've got a LOT of work to do shooting from the middle of the arc at stations 3,4,5,8.
I do a lot of pistol target shooting now too, but shooting the flying clays are a lot more fun and a lost more of a challenge. Next I plan to try my hand at trap shooting.
