how many companies will go under? how many jobs lost? we need someone in our legislature to do the necessary study and statistic gathering to determine these answers and to fully describe the total economic impact that this bill might have.

I believe that the democrats know fully well what impact this ban would have. I honestly believe that they are trying to push our economy over the edge as the "ultimate crisis" for them to step in and take full advantage of in their efforts to "transform" this nation. On the surface, this bill might just be part of a distraction from the economy, but it is also intended to be a tool to help them along.

I know its just a movie, but there's a stunning resemblance between what is going on now and the sub plot in the latter starwars movies where Palpatine was outwardly acting so concerned about the state of the republic, when all along he was directing forces behind the scenes to attain his ultimate goal: to become the emperor.

I think you're on the right track. They certainly know the score, but don't care.

A fundemental change in the structure and fabric of the country is wat they want. Gun control isn't about saving children and ending violence, its about control and to save some bloodshed on their side when they start ramming through the agenda and consolidating power.

That video posted earlier says pretty well what I believe is happening and sums up what I saw from the inauguration, obama is unchained and clearly revealed himself to be solidly a progressive socialist.

yeah....I would have bet they wouldn’t mess with the job loss this could potentially cause.....if something like NY's restrictions went country wide, it would be catastrophic for the firearms industry, and truckers, wood workers, steel foundries, plastics industry, gun powder makers, bullet makers, gun oil makers, cleaning patch makers, holster makers.......optic makers…….laser makers......tactical everything.

We just saw Gangster Squad. I saw a lot of resemblence in that movie. Too many "bad guys". Too few "good guys". No chance says everyone of the good guys. Good guys try anyway because "it is the badge they wear". Lose a couple to the bad guys but kick ass along the way.

I don't think they govt cares if more people are put out of work. Stop the flow of parts and ammo, the guns will follow. They will borrow more $$$ to pay for unemployment putting us deeper into the pit we're falling into. It is win-win for them...guns go away and more people are beholden to the govt. And China owns a little more of America. If I were Canada I'd be worried right now...
