I keep my 590 in a rack in my closet. The mag is fully loaded, the chamber empty.
I've got a 150 lumen LED light mounted on the forend. An intruder will see the light and hear the action being racked, at the same time.
If I have to shoot, they will then see a bright flash of light. They probably won't hear the loud boom.
